Joseph Wolfe
September 27, 1818 - November 2, 1888

Joseph Wolfe was a steamboat engineer. In his will, he references Peter B Morris, ". . . the best friend a man could ever have . . . ." Joseph Wolfe requested in his will that $1,000 be set aside to build a monument to his good friend. Nancy Neely Marlin Morris Wolfe did just that - bought a plot and had a monument to the family built in June 1889. In July 1889, Nancy had first husband Peter B Morris, their infant son Andrew, and second husband Joseph Wolfe, removed from the City Cemetery and reburied on this plot.

Nancy Morris Wolfe is buried besides her first husband, Peter B, under the "M" side of the obelisk. On the back side under the "W" is buried Joseph Wolfe and his son. Several other family members are buried on this plot. What a monument to friendship!
