Ellen Matilda Shelton, 78, of Bonnertown passed away on December 30, 1984 at Crockett General Hospital. Funeral services were held today at Five Points Baptist Church with Rev. Junior Roper officiating. Burial followed in Union Hill Cemetery with Loretto Memorial Chapel in charge of arrangements.
She was a native of Lawrence County and a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Baylous and Millie (Jones) Jenkins and the wife of the late Mose Andrew Shelton.
She is survived by her daughters, Betty Canade Traynor of Big Rapids, Michigan, Mary Vernaciel Thigpen of Five Points, and Reba Nell Smith of Revilo; her step-daughter, Opal Irene Bishop; her son, Charles Shelton of Bonnertown; her step-sons, Ernest Alvin Shelton, Leonard Boyd Shelton, and Noah Walton Shelton; her sisters, Beatrice Ezell and Lessie May Ezell, both of Five Points; thirteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Mose Andrew Shelton, 79 year old retired farmer of Five Points, died at 1 o'clock Monday morning at Lawrence County Hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Five Points Baptist Church with Rev. Raymond Hurn officiating.
Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery with Beecham Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
He was a native of Lauderdale County, Alabama and the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Melissa Elizabeth (Littrell) Shelton. His first wife, Maude Opal (Roberts) Shelton, died on March 11, 1920.
He is survived by his second wife, Ellen Matilda (Jenkins) Shelton; his sons, Baylous Lavon Shelton, Leonard Boyd Shelton, and Noah Walton Shelton, all of Winter Haven, Florida, Charles Shelton, of the home, and Ernest Alvin Shelton of New Prospect; his daughters, Betty Canade Gregory of Peoria, Illinois, Opal Irene Bishop of New Prospect, Mary Vernaciel Thigpen of Five Points, and Reba Nell Smith of Winter Haven, Florida; his brothers, John Elexander Shelton, Robert Greenberry Shelton, and Steve Shelton; his sisters, Georgia Pearl Shedd, Nancy Ellen Lynn, and Sarah Ann Cole; seventeen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
