Nancy Ann Sewell was born April 22, 1880 to Alvin Marion Sewell & Mary Emeline Smith. The first child of the union, she spent her childhood in Fentress and Pickett Counties. On November 6, 1904 she married James Issac Robbins in Pickett County and made her home there the whole of her life welcoming 6 known children. Nancy died June 27, 1967
James Issac Robbins was born September 12, 1870 to George Robbins & Jane Smith. Born in Carmi, White County, Illinois the circumstances of he and his brother John's birth are quite intriguing. His father George had during the Civil War served in the Kentucky 8th Calvary & 12th Infantry crossing the Cumberland gap to join the union. Although Fentress county was pro union when the war completed unrest in the area prompted the family to move to Illinois with the widow of George's brother Issac who had died in service. They returned to Tennessee by the birth of their Third child residing in Fentress & Pickett Counties where James was raised. Throughout his life he served in many important capacities including the Pickett County Judge, County Clerk as well as others. He preceded his wife Nancy in death by 6 years on January 14, 1961.
