Hunter (aka Reubin Hunter) Cemetery
Lincoln County,
Tennessee

View looking south with Branson markers in foreground

This cemetery is across Highway 231 (eastward) from Higgins Cemetery and upon a high hill at 820 feet above sea level. Standing in the cemetery you are looking east into Long Hollow and west into Norris Creek Valley and at Hwy 231.

About 25 graves are here marked with Fieldstones as was mentioned in the book.

Information from analysis of Tim & Helen Marsh's book "Lincoln County Tennessee Cemeteries" page 179, about 1987.

This cemetery contains burials of Davis, Hunter, and Branson families who lived on farms in this area and became related by marriage. The cemetery is organized in three sections. Davis area containing hand carved limestone markers is in northern area. Hunter burials are in middle and family has supplemented some badly deteriorated markers with bronze plaques. Branson burials are in the southern section and contains large, high quality markers of unique design and fragments of markers of similar design. The cemetery is open to cattle and has been damaged by falling trees. Many marker fragments are scattered throughout the three sections.
